Order a Monogatari Watch

Bakemonogatari, No. 1

Bakemonogatari is the first animated version of Nisio Isin’s book. It was written by Fuyashi To’ and directed by Akiyuki Shumbo and Tatsuya Oishi. The inaugural screening of this film series took place on July 3rd, 2009 in Japan. It features a total of 15 episodes, with the first 12 being shown on television and the remaining three being made available on the official website on June 25th, 2010.

This series recounts the adventures of Koyomi Aragagi, a young high school kid who, after being bitten by a vampire in his third year of high school, was able to return to his human nature with the assistance of a guy called Meme Oshiro, while still retaining certain vampire qualities.

2. Nisemonogatari (

This is the third book series adaptation, but the second from the animation studio. This is also the first series directed by Tomoyuki Itamura, who would go on to direct the remainder of the TV series. The director of the first TV series, on the other hand, undertook more development than the other conceivable series.

It’s a continuation of the events in Bakemonogatari. This sequel continues Koyomi Araragi’s journey as he maintains his interactions with the other characters in the series, with the exception that this series is more focused on supernatural phenomena. However, in this second series, Koyomi Araragi’s two younger sisters, Karen Araragi and Tsukihi Araragi, took center stage. It broadcast in Japan from January 8th to March 18th, with 11 episodes overall.

3. Kuro Nekomonogatari

The third studio version of Monogatari is Nekomonogatari Kuro, also known as Nekomonogatari Black. With just four episodes, it was published on December 31st, 2012, on three distinct platforms, including the video hosting site Nico, Nico Douga, and Japanese TV stations TOKYO MX and BS11.

After surviving a vampire assault, Koyomi Araragi’s companion Tsubasa Hanekawa, whom he refers to as savior, started behaving oddly, according to this series. However, when Koyomi saw the bandage on her face, she decided to examine the wound she had suffered, but she convinced him that it was just a small injury she had sustained at home.

However, when a white cat with no tail is killed by a vehicle, both Koyomi and Tsubasa bury the creature, which is when the problem begins. Later that day, Koyomi Araragi went to see his buddy Meme Oshino and told him everything that had transpired earlier that day. Then he learned that what they had buried was an apparition.

It’s ideal for Tsubasa’s current situation. It’s now up to Koyomi to devise a strategy for locating and rescuing his companion from the possession. She had already assaulted her parents before he could locate her. To avoid similar tragedies, Koyomi must act quickly.

4. The Second Season of the Monogatari Series

The Monogatari light novels are being adapted for the fourth time by an animation studio. This 26-episode series aired in Japan from July 6th to December 28th, 2013. However, three of those episodes were recaps, bringing the total number of episodes to 23.

It covers the first five volumes of the light novels. It was unfortunately not included in the initial broadcast and had to be altered independently months afterwards. The events of this narrative took place throughout the summer and winter. Strange things were happening in the vicinity of Koyomi Araragi and his buddies.

Tsubasa Hanekawa, the group’s modest genius; Shinobi Oshino, the resident doughnut-loving vampire; Suruga Kanbaru, the group’s athletic deviant; Mavoi Hachikuii, bite-happy spirit guy; Nadeko Sengoku, Koyomi’s stalker; and Hitagi Senjogahara, the poignant tsundere struggle to overcome the darkness that is rapidly approaching in this second season.

With the start of a new semester approaching and graduation looming, Koyomi Araragi must choose which route to follow and which friends to preserve. However, as bizarre events unfold, Koyomi vanishes. In Koyomi’s absence, a deadly tiger appears out of nowhere.

Tsubasa Hanekawa was the target of this tiger’s attention. Hanekawa only has two choices: fight for herself or succumb to the creature’s point of view.

5. Hanamonogatari (Japanese: Hanamonogatari

Hanamonogatari is the animation studio’s fifth Monogatari adaptation. Hanamonogatari, like Nekomonogatari, contains just five episodes, all of which were published on August 16, 2014.

Suruga Kanbaru, who is in her third year of high school, has graduated along with all of her upperclassmen pals. There have also been reports of a problem-solving demon at school. She discovers that her rainy devil arm has vanished after exploring and meeting this unusual individual. The events of Kizumonogatari were immediately followed by the events of this series.

Tsukimonogatari (No. 6)

This film is the 6th anime studio version of the Monogatari series to be televised. It has four episodes, all of which debuted on December 31st, 2014, practically simultaneously with Nekomonogatari Black and Hanamonogatari.

As Koyomi Araragi approaches the most difficult time in his life, this story is loaded with tantalizing experiences. Koyomi Araragi started to notice some weird changes while studying for his examinations.

As the vampire feature in him begins to appear, his biggest dread is starting to dawn on him. In order to discover a solution, he enlisted the assistance of a human-like doll and an eternal oddity expert.

He was then offered two choices: refrain from utilizing his vampire talents and lose his humanity forever, or use his vampire abilities and lose his humanity forever. It would be a tough decision to make.

Owarimonogatari (

Owarimonogatari is the studio’s seventh Monogatari anime adaptation. It includes 20 episodes, with the first 13 episodes airing in 2015 and the last seven airing two years later, in 2017.

The first 13 episodes adapt the first two volumes of the Owarimonogatari book, while the last 7 episodes cover volume three. It is the first adaptation in North America to be released in blu-ray volumes.

Because the Western blu-ray volumes are divided into three volumes in the same manner as the book versions are, the final seven episodes are referred to as “volume 3” in the Owarimonogatari series. This series follows Koyomi Araragi as he becomes imprisoned with a new pupil named Oshino Ougi.

Koyomimonogatari (

This was the eighth version of the Monogatari anime film, which came after the seventh. In the books, Koyomimonogatari came out before Owarimonogatari, however in the anime version, it came out after Owarimonogatari.

This time, it was available as a mobile application for both iOS and Android. It came with a calendar, some special downloadable material, and original net animation episodes of the anime adaptation.

This adaptation broadcast twelve episodes from January 9th to March 26th, 2016. The episodes in this series are approximately half the length of a typical series, clocking in at about 14 minutes each.

After the series finished on December 31st, 2016, the application stopped operating. Its mini-series, however, is still accessible to watch on Funimation. Koyomi Araragi is dedicated to assisting his friends from both the natural and magical worlds as they work to overcome their difficulties in this series.
